MANdolinMAN cd & tour "HOUTEKIET"

The new MANdolinMAN album has arrived! After two successful albums with local traditional music arranged in a contemporary way, we decided to invite Mathijs Bertel (Ansatz Der Maschine) to give our music a new boost. Old melodies are put into a new light with the use of his organic samples, beats and soundscapes. We found inspiration in one of the true classics of Flemish literature: the book “Houtekiet”, written by Gerard Walschap in 1939. It tells the story of Jan Houtekiet, a tramp who lives in the moore, who founds the village of Deps, where absolute freedom reigns and the rules of the outside world are rejected. The album was released on the belgian Trad Records label.
